The prestigious Almorah Hotel was built around 1841 and is a listed building of great importance. It is situated in an elevated position above the town of St Helier with views over the town and its interesting harbour filled with a mixture of fishing boats and private yachts. The view of Elizabeth Castle (known as the castle in the sea) features prominently, nestling in the Bay of St Aubin with St Clement's Bay in the distance. This spectacle is further enhanced at night providing one of the most photographed scenes in Jersey. A beautiful sight to be enjoyed from one of Jersey's most attractive hotels.
The Almorah Hotel is family run by the resident proprietors. We have no doubt that you will enjoy our intimate cocktail bar where friendships will be formed with guests from all over Europe, as the Almorah Hotel's reputation is truly international. Our friendly reception will cater for your every need. Offering advice, providing your morning newspaper, assisting with booking a hire car or organising such outings as Island tours, day trips to France, Guernsey, etc....
Relax in comfort and style in what we consider to be one of the finest lounges in Jersey. Its hand-painted, decorative ceiling and oak panelled walls will delight you as you enjoy the beauty of our garden and the panoramic views of St Helier. Our olde world Breton styled dining room offers traditional wholesome fayre with a full Jersey Breakfast being served and delicious five course evening meals which beg to be complemented by our selection of fine wines available from our traditional granite cellar.
Most rooms enjoy magnificent views and some have the added advantage of a balcony. All rooms are fully en-suite, centrally heated and feature teletext colour T.V., direct dial telephone, trouser press, hairdrier, and of course tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a baby listening service and wake up alarm calls. Your room can be custom made to your requirements, single, double, family, extra beds, cots, etc....
